for everyone
I was recently assigned a project based on camera flashes - and these are my first images. The water ones were reasonably pleasing - so it will be a subject I pay some more attention to in the near future.

Hopefully I can get some better pictures of the splashes (much more depth of field to begin with), and I can use them in my portfolio.

Enjoy.

Very nice. I'd be interested to know how the rig was set up? The camera handheld? Flash off the camera? Single flash? These look good.

Have you ever seen those ones with a balloon popping, the shutter tripped by an acoustic trigger? I like flash photography - there's so much that can be done with placement of a few synchronised little ordinary flashguns that can really change the mood of a scene.

Keep up the good work.

I recall a great shot on Worth1000, of a tomato or some such dropped into a bowl of water, taken from under the waterline.

The 'rig' was the single built in flash on my camera (canon 350 and accompanying 18-55mm lens), and the reflective bowl that is my kitchen sink.

There is a lot that can be done with flash as you say, Ian, and it is an area of photography that interests me too. I should learn a lot more about it soon as I get some research done. Any suggestions (Other than those pictures both you and Peter mentioned)?

I would say you are well on your way and deserve a big pat on the back. I wish I had those skills.
